Why are Homes for sale in Plumas Lake, Ca so cheap?

not sure but usually when its real cheap, there is a enviromental problem there. Why are Homes for sale in Plumas Lake, Ca so cheap?
Probably because it's so isolated, There are no nearby employers. You have to drive several miles to get to a grocery store, major retail chain etc. The value of homes is likely stagnant.

Nearby jobs, schools, shopping and recreation are things that people desire in a place to live and when demand for homes in an area goes up, property values go up.

Plumas would not suit most young people, other than skiing, too boring, schools are probably not the best so families are not interested, not near San Fran, wine country, Santa cruz, or Silicon valley employers. Therefore not desireable to a wide range of people so they are cheap. I most homes there are really hard to sell.

You obviously have NO idea what you are talking about. There are NO environmental issues to speak of, and the schools are amazing.

Skiing? Are you joking? Stating that there is skiing in the area only goes to show that you are clueless on the subject.

The truth of the matter is that Plumas Lake was a brand new community at the peak of the housing market. Homes were selling for over $500,000. Plumas Lake was hit very hard by foreclosures, which is what has caused the prices to drop. The market in Plumas Lake is very small, so even a small amount of foreclosures hit the area very hard, in comparison to an area such as Sacramento. I suggest you visit www.plumaslakelife.com and visit the forum there and you can see for yourself how tight knit the community is, family friendly, and a great place to live.
