Is there a cheaper way to advertise a home for sale?

We need to sell our house fast and for a good price, and we can't afford a realtor. Even for sale by owner.com is too expensive. Any other ideas? We are in Forest Grove, Oregon, if what you recommend is area specific. Is there a cheaper way to advertise a home for sale?
On Zillow.com you can post a listing for your home sale for free. Put a for sale sign up in the front yard. Its a small expense$30-40 bucks for a weekend) but put your home in the classifieds of the local newspaper in the homes for sale section. At your work put up a flyer in the lunchroom or an areas where you think people would notice. Hold an open house on the weekends this may be some time on your part, but it can generate some buzz in the neighborhood. Is there a cheaper way to advertise a home for sale?
the only problem is 80% of the buyers are working with Realtors and you will have no access to them. I think you should talk to a Realtor for a free estimate and CMA on your home. A report on your local sales and values to see what is affordable and what is not. There may be room to add the realtors fee's on top of what you think your home will sell for.
Put a For-sale sign out front. post Adds on Bulletin boards, Have you friends and neighbors spread the word.
Do you realize For Sale By Owners net 85 cents on the dollar compared to homes sold by Realtors? So what do you mean you can't afford a Realtor? You can afford to throw away 15% but you can't pay a Realtor 6%? Do the math..you will get 9% MORE if you list with a Realtor and a much faster close! They charge you NOTHING if it doesn't sell! Just find an experienced one that knows the area and see what they have to say. You have nothing to lose by interviewing a few of them. Maybe they can get you more then you think it is worth? DO IT NOW while the school market drive is still here.
